John Martin has published two novels: A Land Without Heroes (2002) and Absolutely Perfect (2003). His biography Beyond Belief: The Real Life of Daniel Defoe (2006) was praised by Professor Paula Backscheider (‘literary criticism of the very first rank’) and JM Coetzee (‘a highly coded reading; a real eye-opener’).
