Bray Literary Festival begins on Culture Night, Friday 22 September and continues until Sunday 24 September. It is a festival for people who have a love of literature and features an eclectic mix of Ireland’s rising and established voices in poetry, fiction, memoir and music. One of the voices featured at the festival is Órfhlaith Foyle. Órfhlaith is the author of Belios which was published by Lilliput Press. A few words by Pierre Joannon at the launch of Michél Deon’s Horseman, pass by! in April 2017. Towards the end of his life, Michel Déon showed an intense determination to see his translated memoir of his life in county Galway published in Ireland.  Far from emanating from mere literary vanity, his determination stemmed from Michel’s desire to acknowledge his gratitude towards the community, the country and the culture in which he had made his home since the early 1970s. Each fortnight HeadStuff brings an unadulterated critique of the global art scene. For their July issue HeadStuff focused on The Pantehoen of  Books and got in touch with Lilliput publisher Antony Farrell to write about censorship in publsihing. As part of documenta 14 in Kassel, The Parthenon of Books is a symbol of opposition to the banning of writings and the persecution of their authors. A documentary on the incredible Hubert Butler will air this Tuesday, 8 August on RTÉ One at 10.35 pm. Hubert Butler was one of the main reasons that Antony Farrell decided to establish The Lilliput Press in 1984, after discovering that Butler’s work was out of print. “Hubert Butler was one of the most extra ordinary Irish writers of the past century, as old as the century.
