We are all deeply saddened here at the Lilliput Press to hear of the passing of our former National Library of Ireland colleague, Gerry Lyne. Gerry was a great friend of the press and was the life and soul of Lilliput’s Christmas parties. He was the former Keeper of Manuscripts and retired in 2009 after having worked at the NLI for more than thirty-six years. Originally from Kerry, Gerry went to the Cistercian college, Mount St Joseph’s in Roscrea, before earning his masters in History at University College Dublin. Lilliput Press are delighted to announce the launch of Mary Cregan’s intimate and unflinchingly honest memoir ‘The Scar: A Personal History of Depression and Recovery’. Praised as ‘a searing and riveting book … wrestling with demons emerging here with a kind of grace, a hard-won heroism’ (Colm Tóibín) – it is an evening not to be missed! Join Mary, for what promises to be an enjoyable afternoon as she is interviewed by Booker Prize winner Anne Enright. This is a Free event but donations are gratefully accepted with all profits going to a charity of choice.
